Weaving workshop

GOBELIN is a decorative fabric that presents its decorative values ​​with a more or less rich rhythm of colors, lines and a variety of textures depending on the nature of the work and the individual properties of the creator.
Classic tapestry is made on a frame using linen, sumac or carpet weaves, which are interwoven on a linen cover. The thread creates a motif, it can be made of wool, silk, sisal, ropes of various thicknesses and different colors. The weaving process can be compared to oil painting, with the difference that when weaving, we paint with colored wool and not with a brush and paints.

CLASSES unleash the abilities inherent in each participant and increase self-esteem. The possibility of expression is strengthened by the life instinct, helps to control fears and relieve internal tensions. This gives you a sense of liberation and self-expression. Classes improve perseverance, patience and observance.

MATERIALS used in the weaving workshop

• frame with studded nails;
• gray, white linen string (as warp);
• wool, cotton, decorative wool; scissors, needles, crochet hooks;
• frames for binding fabrics, white foam for binding, double-sided tape for binding

  • drawing the design - cardboard: making a precise contour drawing the size of the future tapestry; the drawing is placed under the warp of the fabric to be created and attached to the frame with adhesive tape
• color preparation of wool for the fabric we are to make
• Before colorful weaving begins, a narrow selvedge is made of linen string
• (also the same selvedge is made at the end of the work)
• weaving a tapestry according to a prepared design using various stitches - linen, sumac and carpet
• removing the work from the frame and preparing it for framing
